2014! What another year?!

As the firecrackers amputate limbs and kill some people. We welcome a New Year with disasters and fear that a stray bullet will hit your galvanized iron sheets.

But how can you hear things? Here and there is noise pumped with crap other people call their music. Celebrate here and there another excuse to eat more and then complain about being too fat.

Make fake promises just to appear so good.

Anyways! I hope you survive this war zone called Philippine New Year alive and with complete body parts.

The gym and all that is about going to the gym

We Pinoys have almost the same mindset as the the Muricans. We were able to do lots of stiff and yet at the same time ignore the use of the brain. Especially with the rise of social media and the selfie. Tons of people especially those who belong to the LGBT community have all flocked to the gym.

You have seen people post about their gym experience and so forth with also the before, during and after workout pictures. Surprisingly as with the rise of internet cafes. There has been a rise in gyms all over Manila and surrounding areas.

I hate gym people. I think for them like the French as cheaters.

You hate gym's like me? Maybe you are also French. lolz

There are lots of ways people can get healthy like running. And for some weird reason I hate some runners as if running is a special skill for people. There is Yoga and so much more. Even the simple task of taking the stairs.

How about bikes?

Lastly an article in Reuters.

So how about seeing you flex those muscles to help be a good part of civilization and not of the famewhores on Instagram and Facebook.

What can you put in a jar?

Social media like Facebook and Twitter seem to flow like time. Things pile up and the next thing you see is that there are posts and tweets you can no longer see and find. Together with the tons of crap we share  and comment on as well as the endless game applications.

We have started to live virtual lives and social life on the internet. We barely even remember all the pains and the joys that come and to write about it. Before we write about is now our paper has also become virtual. There is nothing tangible and human about it anymore.

While browsing Facebook I saw this wonderful post and I want to share it. Take a jar and start filling it with good things.

Top ten movies, books and albums

For days now I have seen and some people have actually tagged me on Facebook about their list. I am not really comfortable making lists of things I want to flaunt to other people, just to make myself sound and look smart. Also putting a list of ten when I have just lived half my life seems wrong. Maybe the only time I can do the list is when I am about to die.

Christmas 2013

I woke up late today and unlike how I usually celebrate or start my Christmas with a mass. Without a Church I can go to that will allow me to do as I like. Maybe play songs on a banduria, laud or even an octavina. This year and the coming years that Christmas past will not come back.

I woke up late today with the noise of my uncle and his son. I didn't visit relatives or even greet anyone anything. I had a normal like like any day and then stayed online most of the time. As well as download some stuff.

Well I didn't plan on going out since I know the malls will be packed today and tomorrow I have training at my new company.

Merry Christmas!

Rosaries and collecting them

Most Catholics I know have more than one rosary they use and some even collect them. Some rosaries can be as simple as knots on a chord, plastic beads in different shapes as well as bejeweled ones.

So yesterday a person working in the Holy land came and gave rosaries, which she sells as part of her business. Oh one thing she is an atheist. I would say its weird to know that an atheist earns some money on selling religious stuff but as other people like Buddhist Chinese selling religious stuff like beads and statues.

The rosary I got has soil from Jerusalem..

Collecting rosaries can be rewarding because there are very interesting rosaries that are just easily available for us Filipinoes. Going thorugh malls, Churches and even that posh Salcedo Sunday Market would even be a place to buy rosaries from the cheap to the really high end blings.

Kimi to Boku (You and I)

Sometimes I think I am a lazy when it comes to things. I have been watching the short movie Kimi to Boku (You and I) for a million times because of the cute cat and Aio Nakamura.

The whole movie is so addicting and caps with a wonderful and yet short song by Maaya Sakamoto.

Here are the links and enjoy. Oh don't forget the tissues...

The song is Tegami by Maaya Sakamoto

Royal Heritage Postal Tour (December 15, 2013)

Today was a good day for a trip around Manila but a short one because it is December and we need to celebrate a bit. I took few pictures as usual. I as too busy with other things like eating. Of course you can't take pictures when food is going away so fast. I need to be on the defensive and the offensive as well.

It was a fun day to have this little fathering of hobbyists and good people.

Received postcards (December 17, 2013)

These are some interesting postcards of today especially the stamps used with the Portuguese postcard sent from France.

American Eye Center gifts OFW heroes with a yuletide privilege

The Christmas season is all about the spirit of giving. And give is what the American Eye Center, the country’s leading eye care center, will do this Yuletide season.

In line with its support of Filipinos working abroad, the American Eye Center is giving eligible OFWs the ultimate gift with its Pamaskong Handog OFW Privilege Card through its Shangri-La and Greenbelt branches. With the OFW Privilege Card, kababayans can now secure eye health for themselves and for their dependents from anywhere in the world through discounts on diagnostics and treatments.

“The essence of the holidays is giving back to the community and American Eye Center does so by honoring our beloved OFWs. These modern day Filipino heroes deserve much recognition and we do that by offering quality eye care for them and the rest of their families through our exclusive OFW Privilege Card,” says American Eye Center’s COO Dr. Benjamin Cabrera.

American Eye Center offers the OFW Privilege Card to all overseas Filipino workers and their qualified dependents. The card is absolutely free and entitles the bearer to a 50 percent discount on comprehensive eye examinations and 15 percent discount for their dependents. The card also allows special 20 percent discount on cataract surgery, 15 percent discount on All Laser or Bladeless LASIK, and 10 percent off on diagnostic procedures.

The card also offers exclusive discounts at American Eye Center partner SPEX Optical. All OFW’s need to do is set an appointment and present valid overseas employment documents to avail of these unlimited discounts starting December 2013 to March 2014.

When a bus cannot hammer through the heart

Source: Showbiz Government

Two big news hit the news yesterday; the bus tragedy and the mall robbery. Immediately you will see the priorities here in the Philippines.

The mall robbery gets attention from the Prsident Aquino and the rest of the police and military. It's such a simple crime that the mall itself should be able to handle on their own and yet despite the securities in the mall the robbers were able to do a simple task with just hammers.

How does the police handle such events in the future? They want to ban hammers to be sold in the mall. Smart eh? This is where our taxes are wasted. Well I really don't expect intelligence from the government and the police.

Meanwhile a bus speeds on a highway and kills lots of people. An yet the support needed for the people just travelling is almost non-existent. Maybe they are not as rich as the owners of SM malls.

With the Aquino adminitration, you can only facepalm with everything they do. I also blame the people in here for voting like minded people into government. Idiotic voters vote for incompetent and idiotic leaders.

Lieder by Adel Tawil

I am fascinated by music from other countries and I love to sing them despite my mistakes and mispronunciations. Hehehe

It's like when I was small and speaking my Tagalog. I was fascinated by English and tried my best to imitate the language. I feel so when I sing any non-English or non-Tagalog songs. I also feel that music indeed becomes a universal language despite the incomprehensible lyrics.

Today I share this cute song about songs and bands we are most familiar with. Even though the lyrics are in German you will get the feel of this wonderful song.

Islam and their book

I have received some booklets about Islam and their religion. Islam and the Qur'an are somethings I never even give a damn about but this time since I am meeting Muslims on Rizal Park. I am going to force and torture myself with a book far more inferior than the Bible.

It's a good thing that the Qur'an is shorter. Now I will read and then write my commentaries in the coming days.

May I endure and survive this shit!

Tagalog booklets about Islam and the Qur'an
BTW the Muslims at Rizal Park are giving these materials for free. Way better than those Johova's Witnesses.

Horrible Histories series

I love reading the books even as an adult. Surely they have a wonderful sense of humour and honest on how History with even its disgusting and scary details into something even the kids will love. Without much bullshit ans just the facts of course you won't see sex or something like that.

The series which runs on BBC is quite the series it should be. It's fun and really gets your attention and surely what they tell you on this series will be stuck on your mind.

Horrible Histories is a series for kids and I think adults should watch as well. I just wish we have something like this to explain Philippine History ebcause I know our history has also its horrible side.

The series is available on youtube and here. The series has run for 5 seasons so far.

Visit the offical page here:

Mail for today (December 13, 2013)

Yes the mail has come for this December and I hope there is more to come. It's also the one which has one nude postcard and also tons of interesting stamps.

Silent Eve (A Japanese Christmas song)

We are all familiar with Christmas song but mostly in English. It's nice to hear it in a different langauge and see how they view it in their culture.

Here is Karashima Midori's song from 1990's. Wow that seems like a long time ago. Yeah I am old but this song really captured me with its wonderful melody and interesting lyrics.

And you may not even think that this song was written by just a person waiting in the snow at the train station.

Share and enjoy guys!

Booklaunch: Men are from QC women are from Alabang by Stanley Chi

Admittedly we are not a reading culture. Just look at the number of Filipiniana books on the shelves compared to other titles.

So this afternoon PSICOM comes out with another book for the Pinoy market. I like PSICOM for giving a chance for PInoy writers to do what must be done. To write whatever you want and have your fans read them.

Trade and WIN!

source: Money expo site

Well I agree that most games teach you something but this game started for the Philippine Money Expo 2014 is simply interesting. Usually games allow us to earn points in the form of manna and most of the time money.

This game I think is a wonderful learning experience on the game. How can you master the game if you can't have practice and if you do really well then there is a chance to in real money.

YEY! My mind was blown. I mean good game plus you have a chance to earn. I say better sign up fast.  Contest runs starting December 10 until December 31st.

Do sign up here: http://www.moneyexpo.ph/index.php

Get Rich from the Financial Market

So without sleep I was worried on going to an event I think is boring. I wasn't able to buy the yarns I need the previous night. I was thinking that if I get bored just knit to keep myself awake.

I arrived early as usual with my good friends from Wazzup Pilipinas. We had the usual chit chat and even talked about the interesting things you can find at the Ortigas Museum especially their Filipiniana books and other stuff. But wait I am here for a thing on the Financial Market.

So first things is to register. I am an early bird and the organizers I say are very professional and warm.

Registration area
After the registration we were given stuff like flyers from some of the sponsors of the event. And there is food as well.

Sample coffee

sample sandwiches
People were given sample snacks to start us with the Market. Let's admit it I have my prejudices about the people who play the game (sorry PUAs not that one). Usually my mind goes George Carlin: Ah those criminal assholes who own everything. But I need to listen and see since this is my first time and we really don't study this in the normal school.

We had two guys who know what they are talking about and how to relate such things to the noobs but at the same time will not bore those who are familiar with the so called Market.

Amar Chadnani and Shyan Lim

This is so much like a crash course on a lot of things about realty, stocks and FOREX. I was trying to be a good sponge listening to Amar and Shyan.

They said a lot of good points that I can share here the rest of the stuff I will leave to the experts to explain.

1. Now an exciting time to start investing.
2. Pinoys are happy people despite not having much.
3. You don't ned to be a boss to be a millionaire
4. You don't need tons of money to start.

and so much more.

All the talk is such over overwhelmingly good that my skepticism arrives like the bullet train. But the thing is I just need to try this out. If these guys can do it then the chance for me to be financially free is probable.

Want to learn and hear from the guys who know how to make the rules eay to understand and at the same time without the drama (You know what I mean).

You can join and sign up for the Philippine Money Expo this 2014.

See the website: http://www.moneyexpo.ph

They are also on Facebook and Twitter.

Thanks also for our very generous sponsors:

1. Snakim and MUZ - food and facial masks
2. Ritz Food Product Corporation - bisuits and crackers
3. Finnex Sales International, Inc. - Coffee and brownies
4. Philam Life - Tan & Associates
5. AAMI Food - Top Meat - Clubhouse sandwiches
6. SeriAsia - beauty products, GCs
7. Harbour Springs Resort and Spa Village - GCs
8. Clinica Manila - Free check up and GCs

The Vagina T-shirt

The vagina tshirt

Everyone is wearing them because 100% of the sales will go the the victims of typhoon Yolanda. A Facebook friend of mine pointed out the obvious (I am thankful I have friends like that), it looks like a fucking vagina.

I don't dare point it out on the MRT as or in the public. I may hurt their ego. I may destroy their so high ideals of helping.

RIP Nelson Mandela and the internet bandwagon

Meme shared on Facebook
It is a fact of life that someone or even groups of people die everyday. But it's a different case when its an actor or a celebrity. Nelson Mandela has been in and out of the hospital for sometime now and has departed from this world.

Many people were shocked and saddened. I mean those who knew the work of Mandela. So some people need to speak about it. Even if they have no idea what they are talking about.

In the age of the internet where people can just say anything even if they can look up the person on the internet. People will associate things here and then to the point of absurdity and facepalm moments.

If you are Filipino then you say maybe its related to Jed Madela (A singer)

Thanks for the condolences but I am not a relative of the deceased.
And then we have Paris Hilton, nuff said.

The Killing (Forbryedelsen)

Source: wikipedia
It seems obvious that I am not interested with Filipino series ever. So I started watching the Killing. Of course not the American version for God knows what ways will they make the series boring and less human. I like watching some series that are more focused on the story rather than the actors.

Most series watched here in the Philippines concerns on what the actors look like. That is why Filipinoes are suck Korean drama fans.

I have started with Season one and as of the time of my writing I am watching Episode 7 into the story. It seems like a boring series because of the exhaustive details put into each of the characters.

I got hooked into the series and kept wondering what really happened to this and that. Yeah I know no spoilers. So yup no spoilers here.

I like the simplicity and flow of the series and the way the songs are put to emphasize what each character feels.

2014 Coffee Planner

Source: the peachkitchen

It's the time of the year when people want to get their limited edition special coffee planner. They say its for Free but after you bought Php 2,000 plus worth of coffee and some breads.

I read last year an idiot bought tons on coffee on one day just to have the planner. Talk about obsession and absolute whoredom.

BTW I used to think they were cool but I am glad I am no longer that.

Why not use notebooks instead? If you really want to help then donate to the charities. You like coffee? then buy cheaper ones and save the rest of your money. We are in the Philippines and stop posting your stupid pictures online with your planner that will not even be filled after January.

I mean are people this busy to have a planner? Can people still write? I bet most of these coffee planner idiots will have bad handwriting, save a few.

There is my advice buy notebooks or just use the fucking calendar in your phones and stop bitching my timeline.

Thank you!

Brace yourselves for the MMFF 2013

Every Christmas time here in the Philippines you are forced to watch Filipino moives. Moives from other countries are banned. In paper this should be a good idea but its a rather authoritarian. Most of the movies on the list are not even owrth seeing even on free TV.

Of course holiday here in the Philippines is an excuse to waste money even on trivial things like stupid movies.

So what movies are on the MMFF (Metromanila Film Festival)? Here is the list

1: 10,000 hours (Looks like a boring movie to me starring Robin Padilla, I expect a lot of lame acting with this one.)
2. Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy (Vice Ganda et al another movie to bash and make fun of the LGBT community.)
3. Kimidora: Ang Kyemeng Prequel (The new movie that seems never to end despite the ugly script.)
4. My Little Bossings (Another Enteng Kabisote rip-off with annoying robot called Bimby. If this was a solo movie with just Ryzza MAe it would have at least some decency.)
5. Kaleidoscope World (Next!)
6. Pedro Calungsod Ang Batang Martir (Why would I watch a movie about a saint whose story is based on anecdotal records? and knowing how script writers work?)
7. Golden Boy (I saw JV Ejercito's name and I go never mind.)

See where you will be wasting your precious money on? I say think and watch movies before December 25 a time where most Filipino families go out and celebrate.

I am glad that there is no Enteng Kabisote, Panday and Shake Rattle and Roll shit that is played every fucking year.

Again I tell you if you respect yourself please do watch decent movies. The sad fact is that they are so rare here in the Philippines and please don't tell me about indie moives. They are as crap as the regular ones.

Things that must not be on the news

OK there are things I really don't care about in the News. One is showbiz and what actors and actresses do with their lives. The same with politicians just hogging the camera all the time or any species of famewhores.

Anne Curtis went crazy in a bar. Well, fuck her. Even if she died in a bar I would not even care.

News here: Slapping Anne Curtis.

Another actor died, Paul Walker and the whole social media goes crazy, pretending to care. To be honest I don't even know this guy. I say let's leave the guy alone and stop the empty drama online.

News here: Too fast?

Of course we always have these people who comes out and everyone goes YEY! like it's that awesome. I mean you are gay, good now stop telling me because I don't care.

News here: Another person comes out! ZZZZZ

Missent Postcard

Some messages are missent, text messages, emails or even status updates. what happens when mail is missent? It becomes more interesting for collectors like me.

I am glad it made the right way after being lost.

Missent postcard from Germany. Made a detour at Taiwan

FREE space in Metro Manila (Sanctuary Garden)

Sanctuary Garden

I am glad to see this post on Facebook so I am sharing this to you.

There are lots of FREE space like parks all over the city but there is one problem they are full of idiots and noise. Well we can't do much about people but this space will at least allow you some quiet.

It's a place where I can knit or maybe arrange my postcard collection.

The Sanctuary Garden is

OPEN to the lonesome, melancholic and everyone else who seeks shelter. No reservations / No orders necessary. 6pm till the last guest leaves. Limit to 12 people at a time.

How do you go to school?

As an ESL teacher I have always asked this question to students. The responses vary since there are many ways you can go to school.

This morning I saw a school service pick up a neighbor from his house. I was thinking it sucks to be like that. Imagine you have no choice but to go and be cramped an a space with people you barely know. Of course you have have your school service friends but that's not me.

The point is that you have no other choice but to go the way other people want you to. You have no other choice unless you are sick. I am glad I was not put into private school shit. I have the option of taking my adventure to school on my own terms, take public transport and be more acquainted with how I must live the city life.Something I learned well with the public school system.

It's December

It's December and Pinoys will be more forceful of the holidays. This means more Christmas songs, more decorations here and there. You must be happy because it's Christmas and not Holy Week.

You will hear children beg for money as they sing the most awful versions of carols (most with mispronunciations and badly placed words).

The atmosphere will be so positive and sweet it wil make you puke. You will see how fake people are and how showing off is a national past time. You need to have new stuff to flaunt to show you are so blessed.

Anyways, to introverts and people like me. Good luck!
