50th American Atheist Convention

50 Years of Reason

This is one of the largest gathering of the people who refuse believe in God. They would have as guests A.C. Grayling, Congressman Pete Stark, Katherine Stewart, Jay Jay French, Janet Heimlich, Hector Avalos, Richard Carrier, Matt Dillahunty, Teresa MacBain, Cara Santa Maria, and David Silverman and much more.

They also have my favorite Seth Andrews of The Thinking Atheist.

When: March 28-31, 2013

Where: Austin, Texas

This is one convention that would not just have you sitting and listening to endless talks and stuff like that. I wish  could be there as well.

Details: here.

I also advice you to visit the American Atheist site.

I wish they issue a stamp for this. (crosses fingers)

Last night after McDo

So it is our payday. What an abnormal day to get paid. We get our pay every 10th and 25th for the weirdest reason a company can have and I have not even bothered understanding why.

So its been a tradition for some people to eat out on payday. Another stupid tradition that is for some weird reason I enjoy, the eating part that is, not the paying part. So we decided to eat at McDo to kinda celebrate that we still have a fucking job and that we got paid in time.

We went to McDo in El Pueblo. There were lots of Indians there. My friend said "Bakit ang daming 3 Idiots dito? (Why are there so many cast members from 3 Idiots here?) They were kinda noisy speaking in their language. What ever that is!

I ate my french fries (not vegan at all) but what can I do? My friends ate their dead animals too while the Indians are talking their shit like they own the place. So we also talked about life, well mostly the people at work. The annoying people at work.

After that we went home. It was kinda late and its was very hard to get a bus. So I was trying my best to connect to the net as usual. After 20 minutes of waiting for the bus a person at my back said that my backpack was open. I looked and it was indeed open. So I closed it.

For some weird reason when I got on the bus my gut feelings went nuts. I check and I found that my camera case with new batteries were gone. Damn! They stole my new batteries. I have not even used it. That pissed me off. Then I was like also. Damn! Good thing I didn't put the camera there. My camera was safe at home.

I checked my bag for the missing camera case but it was not there. I was thinking of this incident as I go home. Where did it get stolen? I think it was between the time we went out of work until the time I learned it as I was waiting for the bus.

Then fuck! I also put my hard earned salary there. My iPod too... It seems the idiot took only the camera case with new batteries. I still have my money and my precious iPod.

Napansin ko lang

(Sorry this is just story insipred by the rain and what I heard)

Walang pumapansin. At kung mayroon man takot o pandidiri ang nasa mata nila.

BEEP!!! Ang daming sasakyan...

CLICK! CLICK!

BUZZ! BUZZ!

Ang daming parating sa tahanan ng binate at mga kaibigan at kapitbahay. Mga pulis, media at mga miron at chismoso.

FLASH! FLASH! CLICK! CLICK!

Dinampot ang mga kilala at mga kaibigan na para bang ngayon ay Earth Day at bawal magkalat. Nagtataka at naguguluhan. Ang daming tanong at ilaw. Magulo.

Ewan.

I hate rainy days

Source: Reddari
I hate it when it rains. The streets look more dirty and people seem to act more stupid and annoying. I hate people with umbrellas becuase they always walk so slow. They also have this habit of maing sure they hit me with their fucking wet umbrellas. Or just make sure they annoy me by brushing that wet thing on me.

I don't like bringing umbrellas for the plain reason that I hate bring bulky umbrellas and the fact that they are wet when you use them.

So I get to work wet and annoyed. I am annoyed not because I am wet. In fact I like being wet because it lessens the rage I have in me. Its kinda making my heat go down.

So I arrived at work. See my friend and ask how my asshole officemates are doing. I heard they are having some time as well. To compensate with the bad luck they have. They decided to go fucking noisy. I put on my ear phones and blasted away annoyed and pissed. I just wish they go deaf and mute.

Despite my ear phones blasting and playing my favorite Big Bang just to calm my nerves. It never helped though I am so mad and still quite at rage as I write this. So I need to amp my music some more. I helped a little. I decided to write some postcards for postcrossing just to take my mind off the annoying people at work.

Its true they say the stupidest people make the biggest noise.

I decided then to go down since Manong (the snack vendor) has already gone when I was done with the postcards. That is annoying just to peace my mind over their bullshit I was able to forget to buy my snack. That is annoying.

Now I need to send my postcards. Good it is raining. I want to walk to the post office and just be drenched. Walking to the post office like it was a normal day is a good feeling for me. My mind is like saying, "Bitch please its just the rain. No one dies of just a little rain."

I arrived at the post office with me the only person sending mail to actual people. I don't consider company mail as mail because they are just like work and shit like that. the post office is just for office mail these days.

As I was to buy stamps a man went in fornt of me like a boss. I was like, "Go ahead asshole." I never said that in to his face but I wish I did. So never mind. I gave my money and then left.

Walking in the rain to 7- Eleven to buy something to eat. Just to calm my nerves more. If you would follow me you would notice that I don't like looking at people and I try not go to near anyone who I think is stupid. That is about 99.99% of the population.

As usual there are many idiots in the store. Also take it a fact that I think that the stupidity is higher with young women these days. Thrice as high as the jejemon guys who wear stupid shit and listen to crappy rap songs while sending GMs to their herd.

I took me a forever to get to the counter just to make sure I don't come near any one at all. I bought coffee (Kopiko) because its cheaper than buying shit from Starbucks. I wish I could buy at Mercury Drug but I would be soaking wet if I do that. After buying I went out of the store making sure I never go near those two idiotic girls at the store.

Well its just about 5 pm now. I hope to experience less bullshit today.

Dirty and bored

Source: Lush site
I am so bored these days that I am able write some stuff. Maybe because my data connection with Smart is making me tweet and post less on the net. Well life goes on. So I enrolled with coursera or just watch things I download at home, except porn that is.

Today I just bough my first vegan fragrance. I always wanted to buy stuff in Lush but most of the time the sales people put me off. Aside from the fact that most of their products are not that cheap (considering I live in a third world country).

So I bought a solid fragrance called Dirty. Man, I love the way I smell now (I tried to put on me ASAP). It has lots of stuff in it that in a good way is also vegan.

The site says:

Dirty combines the intensely fresh scent of spearmint with herbal tarragon and thyme to create a modern fragrance meant for men, but appropriated by women everywhere. It was inspired by the term “Italian Shower”, which describes the way many guys leap out of bed, spray under the shirt they’ve been wearing since yesterday, and head out the door. Clean, fresh and sexy.

The product costs Php 395.00 and is made up of the following stuff: Organic Jojoba Oil (Simmondsia chinensis) , Castor Oil (Ricinus communis) , Candelilla Wax (Euphorbia cerifera) , Perfume ,Talc , Tarragon Oil (Artemisia dracunculus) , Sandalwood Oil (Santalum austro-caledonicum vieill) , Lavender Oil (Lavandula augustifolia) , Neroli Oil (Citrus Aurantium amara) , Thyme Oil (Thymus vulgaris) , *Cinnamyl Alcohol , *Coumarin , *Geraniol ,*Limonene , *Linalool , *Cinnamal , *Eugenol , *Farnesol ,Hydroxcitronellal , Chromium Hydroxide Green

So never be intimidated by those sales people and buy what your heart desires.

Dirty by the way is made up of many products that would make a man awesome. Read here for more.

Coursera

Coursera is a wonderful idea on online learning or education. It offers a lot of courses like Humanities, Medicine, Biology, Social Sciences, Mathematics, Business, Computer Science, and many others.

I am currently enrolled 5 coureses and soon another one will be added. There are some coureses I had to drop because of Math and because the content is too hard.

It is a challenge for me to do some of the coureses and I think that is where the fun is, putting a challenge on yourself to be a lifetime learner.
According to their site:

We are a social entrepreneurship company that partners with the top universities in the world to offer courses online for anyone to take, for free. We envision a future where the top universities are educating not only thousands of students, but millions. Our technology enables the best professors to teach tens or hundreds of thousands of students.
Through this, we hope to give everyone access to the world-class education that has so far been available only to a select few. We want to empower people with education that will improve their lives, the lives of their families, and the communities they live in.
So I encourage you to try online learning.

The Manila Metropolitan Theater desecrated (updated)

The Manila Metropolitan Theater used to be the lifeline of the Arts in the Philippines. It is done in Art Deco by Juan M. Arellano. A building in ruins and is still being repaired.

I join the Filipinas Stamp Collectors Club every third Sunday of the month as it tours and appreciates what is left of the Theater and to share some of the wonders that are still left with it. I know some people will like say, lets tear it down and build something new. I say: Let us not destroy our history and heritage.

So why am I writing this? During our Royal Postal Heritage Tour last January 20, 2013, we have seen some damages on the stage of the Theater. We were informed that there was a shooting for a Telenovela :"Juan dela Cruz (starring Coco Martin). The floor was holed in many ways. We are told by the security that this happened because the staff and crew of Juan dela Cruz had to bring heavy equipment since the Theater is bare except for a fluorescent tube on the stage.

I posted this on Twitter and Facebook several times but it fell on deaf ears. Why? This month (February 17, 2013) we came back and saw that the people behind the said drama didn't do anything for the damage they have done. Yeah they cleaned up the water at the Orchestra pit but the damage they left is permanent.

I will post the more pictures of the said damage soon. Please share this information to others.

HELP SAVE OUR HERITAGE!

More pictures!

Here are the promised pictures taken last February 17, 2013 at the Metropolitan Theater. See that nothing has been done at all since they destroyed the flooring of our culrutal heritage.

My writing ain't that good but I hope by sharing my simple post people will be more aware of what has happened.

FF goes 4!

My life is a routine. I do the same things basically the same way. I sleep late watching and reading everything I can. That is while the TV is on. I go to bed and wake up late. Take a shower. Go to work. Sit and do my my job. Go home late because work finishes late and that is what happens every week day.

This Friday (February 1, 2013) Red Tani, President of the Filipino Freethinkers called for a meet-up. It's a rather surprise meet-up since it was only announced on Facebook. The meet-up was in Starbucks Shangri-la at 6 PM.

Wait! This will work. I have only one call for the day and its quite late. So I really hoped that no other calls will be assigned to me. And yeah I was able to go.

Like in the olden days (it seems like a long time ago huh) it was just Red and Christine there. We had to wait for people to come. There were no topics that was prepared. It was just random everything.

We shared about how the old days were, like what you remember about your first meet-up and even the weirdest and most memorable moments we have. That was funny because I came prepared by thinking what was my first meet-up like and when it was.

Then the talk went to sex as most everything in life leads to sex. (Yeah I am wrong but just get with the flow.) The talk was intense because despite the few number people were really sharing their ideas like in a circle.

The discussion is about what the FEMEN has been doing with their breasts and bombs. Soom we are also talking about balls and penises.

Too bad I had to go to work at around eight. Red was nice enough to have the group picture before I go. I really appreciate that. But me being me I just can't tell that.
