Chiow Express: Your taste of Chinatown at Boni Ave and Mandaluyong

So you are in Boni and you actually crave for something Chinese. Yes, there is a new place for you to visit. Just located in front of the Mandaluyong Medical Center, Chiow Epress, is one piece of Binondo you must try.

They have most of the food you crave for in a Chinese restaurant. They are also expanding their menu to cater to more people of varied tastes.

Yes, the food is the same as with the many restaurants you can find in Chinatown.

Located in the heart of Mandaluyong. The place is simple and clean. It also provides an ideal space to focus more on what is on the menu.

With affordable prices and great food on their menu. The place is worth the trip along Boni Avenue.

About Chiow Express

The business started as an idea among friends and to also honor a friend named Chiow (who sadly died last 2016). The restaurant is still new and just started last May 2018.

The place has started to become a place to satisfy cravings or get some delicious comfort food.

Here are some of the dishes we tried:

Chiow Buttered Fried Chicken - Buttered fried chicken without the excess oil or flavors that over power the taste of the meat. Crispy and well done.

Chiow Fried Salt and Pepper Spareribs - The well seasoned meat is a sure hit with your taste buds. If you like it hotter then you can ask for their chili oil.

Here are some of the taste of Binondo served by Chiow Express (Yes, do not add an A between the I and the O).

Deep Fried Calamares - I usually hate this food but their calamares is not disgusting or smells bad. A good fried food to satisfy some fried craving.

Hototay - A best seller, and I agree it should be. The blend of vegetables like young corn, sweet pea, meat and seafood, submerged in an awesome stock is a MUST. I can imagine eating this as a daily snack.

Chami - a standard comfort food that fill you up and is great for sharing with friends.

Kikiam - still many people are still familiar with the version cooked in oil with the fish ball and squid balls. Binondo styled kikiam is bigger and is on the drier side (yes, less oil).

Chiow Crispy Sisig - every place has a version of it. This one puts the crunch on the eat. A great balance of meat and spices.

Chiow Fiesta Fried Rice - It all starts with a great rice for a feast must not be plain. The taste is well balanced and not that oily. The rice is not dry as well.
