We all started as lone wolves.

Not all atheists need a group to validate thier non-belief. The same way some people find their God on their own. I realized that non-belief is something you discover and improve by yourself most of the time.

We find friends and keep them while at the same time learn of people whom we should never talk with or even associate.

I celebrate my loneliness as an atheist and I learned many tings mostly alone and in the confines of research. Yes there is discussion but often times it's really hard to deal with people, especially those people who feel they owned atheism.

Orchidology 101 (Day 1)

The usual routine I do is go to the MRT and then walk to the Quezon Memorial Circle. I was a bit late today so I needed to take the jeep.

The first problem I encountered, actually the only problem I have was looking for the venue. No one knows the Gaycanco Hall. I asked security people, I asked people working there, I even asked the police. No one seems to know the existence of the Gaycanco Hall.

I almost went home and gave up but I followed my instincts and found the place just by walking past the Quezon House.

The lecture was led by Mr. Ray Ong. Another Ray Ong but this time a plant and orchid expert. I have no clues about his expertise but can explain everything in a simple and interesting way. Not a boring speaker ever.

The lecture started with the basics. Yes because this is a basic lecture. We learned what is an orchid, it's origins and other basic trivia stuff about orchids. Like any other modern person I took notes by taking pictures.

In honor of the SONA fashion show and all the lies of the Aquino government

SONA 2014 and all that fashion show never gave a damn to this poor fellow who wanders the Pasig River.

Photo taken at Ayala Bridge.

while people rant and rave about what the politicians were wearing. Lauding this and that for being the worst dress of the best dress. Who looks rich and the Prsident makes more promises and talks about his so called accomplishments. While berating and blaming other people rather than himself and his dysfunctional family.

All that crap we don't even care about and is not even important. This man is trying to survive the high waters of shit the Philippine President spews on the media. The incompetence to clean government offices of corruption and the promise of the meaningless path. Wherever that path leads it's sure going hell or nothing.

Or should we contemplate that Nancy Binay was a Pokemon or not. Kris Aquino whores herself like the bitch that needs a dick all the time and endless attention.

While we are busy with shit like that people suffer and get ignored.

Taeyang (Rise) and EXO (XOXO)

I have just recently downloaded the latest albums of TaeYang and EXO.

Yes, I am going Korean and a little Mandarin these days again.

TaeYang can dance and at the same time sing powerful songs

That is just awesome and then we have that EXO that I have been seeing for days now. I just gotta see and hear and they sounds quite nice. You have there Ringa linga and Eyes, Nose, Lips by Taeyang.

Rizal Park Closed (July 20, 2014)

After the lectures I attended at Greenhills I headed with my friend to Rizal PArk for our weekly devotional. That is to waste time on the Park away from Facebook and the rest of the world. Only to find out that the Park is closed.

You get me? A public park that is paid by tax money is fucking closed. We ask securities and asked why. Their answer was consistent and clear. The park had to be cleaned and repaired after the damage it sustained during the typhoon namned Glenda.

#AllergicAkoSa by Allergic Alice: A YouTube ad

There are many YouTube adds out there. They induce in us that 5 seconds can be a lot longer than eternity. Sometimes you just want to cream at the the top of your lungs.

I bet you stopped watching TV for the same reasons I did: Stupid and annoying ads. Most of them are meaningless shit.

Today as I was going to watch about a documentary about the Last Emperor in China. This advertisement came up.

It's about a young rich lady who is sick about this and that. She doesn't sing that well and her song is very simple. She doesn't cream all high notes that make my ear bleed like anything you hear on noontime shows in the Philippines.

The song also talks about most of the things I also hate about people in the Philippines or even maybe worldwide. Also the songs doesn't pretend to be anything at all but a story of a rich lady who cannot relate to what most of the Pinoys are doing. And is just actually talking about that man she likes.

Enjoy!

Amour, t'es là? by Banda Magda

I have downloaded the Snarky Puppy album just because of the song Something which was posted a months ago. Usually it takes me weeks to discover something I like within an album.

A few days ago I discovered this song.

Amour, t'es là? by Banda Magda

Bouquets des roses
Chansons qui parlent que d'une chose
Amour, amour
Tremblement de terre
Collier qui porte mon bonheur
Amour, toujours
Amour, t'es là?
Amour, je cherche ton schéma
Amour, c'est toi?
Amour, pourquoi tu te caches de moi

Knit postcard

It took me a while to get the number of cast-ons right. I made a simple stockinette stitch and put the thing on a square blank postcard. Now I am offering it on Postcrossing.

I started with 24 COs and then measured from time to time. I don't know how many rows I did.

I think I should make more of these knit postcards. lolz

Musings last week during the typhoon

Waiting is sometimes boring and often times we feel that it's not worth it. You want to give up and someone says just wait another day. You heart is heavy and footsteps get lost in the way. You run for something and yet nothing happens. It seems you and I are going to wait for an eternity.

***

Who wants an eternity alone? Would life go on or stop when you found someone? Are things easier or harder if you get on the same ride? Should I worry about you or I should let you do the worrying? If I like things that you don't should I change or we just let things be? How can I not stay mad at you despite the fact that I have all the right for such? Maybe life is just full of regrets and things to hope for and now the mind rages with things one cannot even answer and some ideas cannot be expressed.

Typhoon Glenda and French music howling at my ears.

Of course I was quite skeptical again of PAG-ASA and its compete on delivering real weather news. Despite the so called modernization that AbNoy claimed as his project, many people were still clueless.

But I have work and I have a task to do.

Actually I never cared much on what is going to happen. I as listening to French songs as the wind and the rains raged. The power went on and off like the many bad services most Filipinos get from the government.

Here are some of the songs I listened to:

Of course there is the stupid rants of my office mates on how bad the storm is. As if they have never seen a storm ever in the country.

I just put on my earplugs and drown in French. Besides why should I worry and be shocked about a storm during the monsoon. That is just nothing!

Waiting the death of Messiah figures even in atheism. Tanginathis talaga

Another great announcement from someone of Facebook. Saying this guy is the Messiah of Atheism. I was like ‪#‎WTF‬! Do atheists need a Messiah or even a savior figure?

But thinking hard about the Messiah or anointed one. I think to that strict sense this guy was just anointed. He as chosen by just this one person because he agrees to the thinking of his leader.

If atheism becomes like this in the Philippines I don't want to be an atheist anymore.

He also said that he will promote his group to be a hedonist group. Hmm, I will just see it all fail and crumble.

So I have six months to wait...

Where is Yoo Byung Eun? What will happen for the Sewol victims?

Wanted Yoo Byung Eun

It's been weeks since the tragedy in Sewol happened and many people in Korea are up to this day still enraged.

A few days ago, I was intrigued by the search for the owner of Sewol. I read his profile on Wikipedia and all the stories. I comes out that Yoo Byung Eun (sounds like Jong Eun to me) has already committed some mistakes in the past but despite that he still was able to make money and more money.

His Church The Evangelical Baptist Church is considered a cult in Korea and is not recognized by many Churches in Korea. So continuing the read I learned that he was a photographer and a minister. I read his authored booklist and something familiar struck me.

Reading thought John's Gospel.

Wait! This is familiar. OMG! I have read this fucking book in a Korean Church I was went to in Greenhills. the Church is called Evangelical Layman's Church which is the old name of Mr. Yoo Byung Eun's Church in Korea.

I asked my friend about it and confirmed that the old English Academy for phone English I worked for is owned by Pastor Yoo Byung Eun. He also owns a toy factory in Taytay, Rizal.

There are other Churches in the country but so far I forgot where they are. Every week members from Korea visit the Church to donate money for Church as well as to support the work of their dear leader on spreading their so called gospel.

Knowing the love of money of the Bureau of Immigration and airport people I would not be surprised if Yoo Byung Eun is in the Philippines. The members in Korea are as fanatic any cult is and is willing to risk their lives for their beloved leader.

BTW, I left that Church ages ago because I was disgusted with their hypocrisy and teachings.

Received postcards (July 9, 2014)

Here are two nice postcards from Ukraine. It's been a long time since I swapped on swapbot.

Blocking spree on Facebook

Today as I came home a bit frustrated from the way salary was handles at work. I saw this post on Facebook:

The nerve of this so called Messiah of atheism to look down on me. And to even lie about a pot I put days ago. That means he had to check my post way back to that time. So you want to be hedonists go ahead but again don't use atheism as an excuse. Hedonism is Hedonism. Atheism is atheism. I know some people like to have fun but I don't do things that way.

I am way so disgusted with the Philippine Atheist and Agnostic Society (PATAS)as well as the Humanist Alliance Philippines International (HAPI).

Looking back this was my post a few days ago. Even I had to scroll down a bit longer just to see that post I made days ago.

Starting today I am cleaning my closet of any connection with the PATAS and HAPI. I am also blocking people that I don't need on my Facebook timeline.

Bambike Ecotour (A bike tour of Intramuros)

It's been ages since I learned how to bike and I was never a fan of biking. I get scared of small spaces and I get out of focus when I see cars drive by.

I arrived quite early at the venue actually I saw first so I went to Manila Cathedral since San Agustin was closed. There was a mass there and I lingered for a few hours. Then after a few minutes I saw a friend bloggers and the rest of the group came.

The firs ting I took a picture of is this little kitty sleeping at the gate of Casa Manila. He seems so tired and in peace. I hope I am in peace later when the tour starts.

We gathered in Plaza San Luis as the sun rises in the east. The air is warm and its going to be a hot day!

The store is located besides Paper Tole. It's a good sized place for their bikes and their small bar. They have different kinds of bikes for all sizes and uses. They have cheap ones as well as expensive ones. The best part is that they can also customize a bike for you.

Who wrote the Bible? by Richard Elliot Friedman (on bargain)

I am almost out of money and then I went to National Bookstore in Megamall. It's one of the places I go to. Then I bought some pineapple hopia from Holland. Too bad they didn't have kundol hopia.

After that I passed by Powerbooks to look at magazines. So far nothing interesting. I browsed without thinking through their bargain books then I saw this book. "Who wrote the Bible." The fuck I read this book for free from a PDF file I got online. I grabbed it and paid for it.

"Who wrote the Bible" by Richard Elliot Friedman is the common's man guide into the origin of the Bible. It presents the scholarly facts that was gathered concerning the authorship of the Bible without the crap most Christians put in the name of their religion.

It talks about the documentary hypothesis and how each of the first five books of the Bible were created. It's a must read for everyone since many people are still blind about their Bible and just assume everything they hear in Church is real.

Who wrote the Bible? by Richard Elliot Friedman

I am re-reading it again with much more gusto.

Hazing, Fraternities and the unending cycle of bullshit

Until now I have not understood the general benefit of Fraternities.I mean if that is brotherhood then I rather be alone. What kind of fond memories will I have in a frat that I will not get in a normal college life? I mean why should I be a slave to others when I can be free and just be me?

Come to think of it many of those assholes we have in government are members of fucking fraternities. Honestly I don't like the idea of men coming together and wanting to control to world.

Hazing will never stop because we have leaders in this fucking Philippines who are members of these fraternities. I came from a bank where frat members try to put their brothers into work and that is just sick as fuck.

I see frats in the Philippines nothing but breeding grounds for many bullshit. Correct me if I am wrong but I think frats should be banned once and for all. Deaths in campuses will never stop and people will think its their obligation to hurt and even kill people as privilege just because they are the seniors.

BAN FRATERNITIES!

Rescue Revive Relive Escolta at #selfiEscolta: The Manila Street Heritage Festival

Young people use the power of social media to raise awareness on Manila’s forgotten but beloved heritage street in this all-day arts, music and food fest.

Manila, July 2 –After its postponement last week due to a bad weather forecast, #selfiEscolta: The Manila Street Heritage Festival will finally hit the historic district as well as our social media feeds this Saturday! Finally, the Queen of Manila’s streets is reclaiming her crown as a relevant and productive district in modern times.

This event will be held along Calle Escolta on July 5, 2014 (Saturday), from 9:00 am to 10:00 pm. It aims to raise awareness and help boost local tourism by featuring various simultaneous activities to showcase Manila’s famed district. These include special guided tours that will take attendees to all the heritage buildings in the area.

Far Eastern University Art Deco tour 2014

It's been about two years I think since last I saw the Far Eastern University (FEU). This is not my alma mater but is surely one impressive campus for being quite well preserved despite the changes and destruction all around Manila.

FEU remain the largest collection of Art Deco buildings in the country. And they always keep on improving and thanks to non-stop increase in their tuition fee and huge number of students. FEU always has things building here and there. Which I think is good, yo see where all the money is being spent.
